St. Pius X Catholic School is dual accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
We are preschool through 8th-grade Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of San Diego. We try to keep enrollment around 30 students in each classroom. We have 3 licensed preschool classes as well as a more academic transitional-kindergarten class for children who are turning five between September 1 and December 2.
We have an all school Mass every Wednesday in our Parish Church. Once a month we recognize students for the virtue of the month. These students are chosen by the homeroom teachers.
We also go to Church for devotionals such as Stations of the Cross, Passion Play, Reconciliation, Adoration, and Exposition. We have Living Rosary prayer services. Our second grade is the primary grade for students to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. These Sacraments of Initiation are also offered to new students who express an interest as well.
School is from 8:00am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-12:00pm on Friday. We do have before and after school care which takes place in the lunchroom. Before care is from 6:30-7:45 and after care is from 3:15-6:00 daily. Student drop off begins at 7:45 am.
We have two lunch periods. TK-3 grades have lunch from 12:00pm-12:40pm and 4-8 grades from 12:30pm-1:10pm.
Students play on the blacktop for recess and lunch time. We recently got new basketball hoops this year as well! Each class has their own colored play equipment for sanitation purposes.
We have a fully gated school property for safety as well as cameras around the outside of campus. Entrance onto campus is through the front gate on E. Emerson and visitors do have to be identified before they enter campus and then check in at the office.
Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are now CLOSED.
